HOLY EASTER

  1. S. FAUSTI - The Christian faith has its beginning in the resurrection of Jesus.
The joy ,that flows from Him, is the strength to follow Him to the cross, in order to participate ourselves to
the resurrection of the dead. This is the beginning and the end of the dynamism of the Christian life.
Indeed, "if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins."
The resurrection consists in being "always with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4, 17), for Whom already we live in the gift of His Spirit.
Paul says: "To me to live is Christ" (Fl 1,21), because " it is no longe me , but it 's Christ that is living in me I am living now this human life in faith on the SON of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me”,
    (Gal 2:20).
"Witness of the Resurrection” is the most beautiful definition of the apostle.
Man naturally thinks that death sets end to every hope.
The resurrection can do any thing but arousing disbelief or hilarity.
To the Sadducees who did not consider it possible, Jesus has said "Are you not maybe wrong, since you do not know neither the Scriptures or the power of God?".
Undeductible from any human premise, the ressurection is revealed to those who know the promise and the power of God. It's the full realization of His Salvation.
Lover of life, God does not want the death.
He has created man for the immortality, of which the root is the knowledge of His power.
In Jesus He has fully manifested it to us , showing us how in Him all creation, together with us, is destined to resurrection, the full expression of our truth as children of God.
Because this we are not "like the others who have no hope (1 Thess 4.3) after death.
If "we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are to be pitied more than all men" (1 Cor 5:19).
"If there is 'nt the resurrection from the dead, not even Christ has been raised. But if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching empty is and your faith is invain too"(1 Cor 15:13).
The faith is really the experience of the Risen Christ.
Our life, while not ignoring any of the tribolations common to everyone , it is illuminated by the eastern joy; and it finds in the meeting with the glorified Lord the strength to walk to where He already awaits us.
Our resurrection will be corporeal, like His One new creation, transition to another life.
Our body will be animated by the same Spirit of God and it will take part in His life.
Indeed, "It is sown in corruption, it is raised imperishable, it is sown contemptible, it roses in glory, it is weak sown and raised in power,it is sown a natural body, it raises a spiritual body
    (1 Cor 15,42).
This new life, greater than all human knowledge, is to be with Jesus, the Son united with the Father in the one love "We will always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
We will be with the One who came to stay with us until the cross to be able to say:
"Today you will be with me in heaven”
